HSE Appointed Person - First Aid Training Course
An appointed person first aider is someone who can take charge of an emergency situation should the need arise. An appointed person is ideal for small businesses or as a back up for cover for more qualified first aiders.
The half day course leads to a recognised qualification which is valid for 3 years.
This training is aimed at medium and small companies with less than 50 staff that need staff first aid trained, but do not have the time or budget to arrange a full first aid training course.
Course content
- Health and safety (first aid) regulations.
- Managing an incident.
- The priorities of first aid.
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty.
- Resuscitation.
- Shock.
- Bleeding.
- Common workplace injuries.
Courses can be adapted to suit specific needs.
Course duration is approximately four hours.
