Our Fire Awareness Course has a duration of approximately three hours.

An employers obligation to their staff is:

• What hazards are present and what level of risk could they be exposed to.
• Be repeated periodically where appropriate.
• Be adapted to take into account of new or changed risks to health and safety of the employees concerned.
• Be repeated periodically where appropriate.

Our fire awareness course content:

• Theoretical
• Causes of fire in the workplace
• The triangle of combustion
• Classes of fire and method of extinction
• Actions to be taken in the event of a fire
• Recognition and operation of fire extinguishers
• Practical use of fire extinguishers on live fires
• Home fire safety

Delegates will operate fire extinguishers and extinguish controlled training fires.

Premises with a large number of occupants would require to have trained fire marshals who would oversee building evacuation, fire prevention, and carry out first aid fire fighting. It may also be necessary to nominate a senior person (e.g. a safety officer or senior manager).
